Electrical Engineer (Senior - Principal), Harness

Location: Onsite near Centennial or Long Beach, United States

Base salary: $135,000–$275,000 annually, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Architect spacecraft-wide electrical harness standards, interface conventions, grounding, shielding, EMC isolation, and signal integrity practices.
• Define routing rules and mechanical interface standards for complete spacecraft configurations, including deployable and multi-module assemblies.
• Oversee flight harness supply chain, manufacturability, reliability, approved parts, materials, and production scalability strategies.
• Create automation tools, reusable design patterns, and validation workflows that improve harness design velocity and quality.
• Coordinate harness interfaces across electrical, mechanical, thermal, and avionics disciplines and drive program-level risk mitigation.
• Coach harness engineers, shape technical direction and investment priorities, and influence executive and cross-organizational alignment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, or related engineering; an advanced degree is preferred.
• 8+ years of spacecraft or aerospace harness engineering experience with progression into multi-program architectural leadership.
• Deep expertise in EMI/EMC, grounding architecture, signal integrity, system-level verification, reliability, and derating for flight harness systems.
• Experience architecting complex harness layouts across full spacecraft configurations, including multi-module and deployable elements.
• Experience with program-level delivery, cross-functional technical alignment, supply chain, manufacturability, and engineering mentorship.
• Must be located near Centennial or Long Beach and eligible to work under U.S. Government space technology export regulations. Travel up to 20% is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with harness design automation, scripted routing validation, automated BOM generation, or CAD-integrated design-rule checking.
• Experience with SolidWorks Electrical and Routing or NX/Teamcenter at multi-program or enterprise scale.
• Familiarity with MBSE, spacecraft-level EMC qualification campaigns, industry standards bodies, mission assurance boards, and flight readiness processes.
• Experience shaping engineering culture, onboarding, or technical mentorship programs.
