Low Voltage Designer (Data Centers)

Location: Full-time, onsite; must reside near Miami, FL; Austin, TX; Pecos, TX; Denton, TX; Muskogee, OK; Grand Forks, ND; Calvert City, KY; Marble, NC; Dalton, GA; or Auburn, AL. Frequent travel may be required, up to 50% of working time.

What you will do

• Establish and improve telecommunications and low-voltage design standards, specifications, templates, and best practices.
• Lead designs for structured cabling, fiber optics, outside plant, security, BAS/EPMS, fire alarm, public safety radio, cellular DAS, and RoIP systems.
• Review and approve construction documents, schematics, riser diagrams, room layouts, grounding details, submittals, RFIs, redlines, and field modifications.
• Manage projects from planning and design through construction, commissioning, and turnover, including scopes, schedules, budgets, resources, cost estimates, and procurement.
• Coordinate architects, MEP engineers, consultants, contractors, vendors, pathways, cable trays, conduit, power, cooling, and space allocation.
• Conduct site visits, audits, and quality inspections; provide technical direction; mentor design resources; and drive process improvements and BIM-based workflows.

Requirements

• 7+ years of telecommunications infrastructure design and implementation experience, including 3+ years in leadership, design management, or project management.
• Experience with hyperscale data centers, mission-critical facilities, or large campus infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of structured cabling, fiber optics, OSP design, physical security, fire and life safety systems, BAS, EPMS, and DAS.
• One required certification: RCDD, CNIDP, CDCDP, or PSP.
• Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam; familiarity with Revit/BIM, BICSI TDMM, ANSI/TIA, and ASIS standards.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, solve complex technical problems, communicate effectively, and safely operate boom and scissor lifts; ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• PMP/RTPM or additional telecommunications certifications.
• Field experience with hyperscale data centers and campus-wide fiber and copper cabling.
