Senior Software Engineer (TypeScript/Next.js)

What you will do

• Lead major initiatives from discovery and design through implementation and rollout across the internal dashboard and customer portal.
• Design and build complex, data-heavy workflows for dataset cataloging, sample creation, customer access management, delivery exports, and multimodal content evaluation.
• Develop full-stack features spanning UI, APIs, data models, and tests in TypeScript and Next.js.
• Optimize browser experiences for large multimodal datasets through streaming playback, previews, lazy loading, pagination, caching, and export at scale.
• Build interfaces over embedding-based search for finding clips in catalogs containing millions of items.
• Set quality standards through code reviews, testing, performance improvements, reusable design-system components, and collaboration with other engineering and data teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building production web applications used by real users.
• Deep TypeScript and React experience, with Next.js or a comparable full-stack framework used in production.
• Experience shipping user-facing features end to end, including UI, API, data model, and tests.
• Strong design judgment and the ability to design complex workflows with detailed visual and interaction decisions.
• Solid backend fundamentals, including API design, Postgres, authentication, permission modeling, and AWS cloud services.
• Experience building fast data-heavy or media-heavy interfaces, working directly with users, and handling sensitive or regulated data.

Nice to have

• Experience with browser media playback, including HTML5 video/audio, HLS, containers, and codecs.
• Experience building UX over embeddings or vector search.
• Experience maintaining a design system across multiple applications.
• Familiarity with Clerk authentication and HIPAA/PHI requirements.
• Prior founding or early-stage startup engineering experience, or a portfolio demonstrating design taste.
