Product Design Intern

Location: Onsite in Berlin, Germany; 5 days a week, 40 hours per week, for a full 6-month internship.

What you will do

• Design wildfire prevention and storm exposure capabilities for Treeline, a vegetation management solution for utilities.
• Take roadmap problems through framing, ideation, exploration, high-craft UI, validation, and iteration.
• Research how utility vegetation planners and grid operations teams work and validate designs with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with engineers through handover, development, build, release, and design reviews.
• Contribute reusable design-system components and patterns with states, variants, and documentation.
• Prototype, test, and refine solutions quickly and iteratively.

Requirements

• Final-year or recently completed studies in design, HCI, or an equivalent self-taught path.
• At least one project involving real users.
• Strong visual craft, systems thinking, sound design judgment, curiosity, and self-direction.
• Ability to receive feedback, raise blockers early, ask questions, and iterate quickly.
• Fluent English, written and spoken, is required for documentation, critique, and collaboration.
• Availability for full-time, in-person work in Berlin for the complete 6-month term.

Nice to have

• HTML and CSS knowledge for reading code and communicating with developers.
• Curiosity about AI tools and their use in design workflows.
