Senior Software Engineer, AeroParker (Scala): Building and scaling backend services for a high-volume pre-book parking and e-commerce platform with an accent on distributed systems, microservices, and seamless airport partner integrations. Location: Stockport, England, United Kingdom. Hybrid office-first model requiring on-site work 2–3 days per week.

What you will do
- Design, implement, and maintain backend services for the AeroParker pre-book parking and e-commerce platform.
- Own the development lifecycle from ideation and technical specifications through deployment.
- Moderate technical discussions, evaluate new techniques, and evolve the e-commerce architecture.
- Apply automated testing, TDD/BDD, and CI/CD practices to support rapid feature delivery.
- Build highly available, secure distributed systems capable of handling high-volume consumer traffic across global airports.
- Develop API integrations with global partners and connect their products to the AeroParker platform.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience and advanced knowledge of Scala, Java, or related languages.
- Experience designing and delivering large-scale distributed systems and microservices for high-volume consumer applications.
- Strong understanding of event-driven architecture and modern software design paradigms.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated build, test, and deployment workflows.
- Hands-on experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical architecture to engineering and cross-functional stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Experience with container technologies and infrastructure as code.
- Background in e-commerce platforms, data analysis tools, or complex third-party API integrations.
- Interest in applying emerging AI technologies to productivity or customer experience.
- Experience in innovative, fast-paced SaaS environments.
