Salary: $100,000–$130,000 USD per year

What you will do

  • Develop and certify flight deck interfaces for electric aircraft.
  • Provide human factors, safety, and certification feedback alongside pilots, DERs, systems engineers, and design engineers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess design acceptability and design decisions.
  • Author, review, and conduct simulator and flight test plans and other certification deliverables.
  • Evaluate pilot participants, cognitive workload, situational awareness, and human performance under varied conditions.
  • Review Functional Hazard Assessments and System Safety Assessments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Factors or a closely related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in ergonomic principles, human-machine interface design, user interface design, task analysis, and cognitive workload.
  • Ability to work with human factors specialists, pilots, DERs, systems engineers, and other design engineers.
  • Ability to work onsite in South Burlington, Vermont, United States.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in Human Factors or a closely related field.
  • Private Pilot Certificate.
  • Experience in human factors aircraft certification.
  • Experience at an aircraft OEM or avionics manufacturer contributing to aviation systems design and development.
  • Passion for aviation.
