Chief Technology Officer (AI)

Location: New York or London, or East Coast Remote. Hybrid model with a home base in New York or London.

Salary: $300,000–$350,000 annually in New York; £200,000–£250,000 annually in London. Compensation includes meaningful equity.

What you will do

• Lead the combined engineering organization and own engineering, infrastructure, technical architecture, security, and platform resilience.
• Adopt AI-augmented development workflows and build AI fluency across engineering, product, design, and business functions.
• Define technical strategy for agentic discovery, research, and transactions through AI agents and intermediaries.
• Unify two legacy technology platforms into a coherent, modular architecture for both brands and customer segments.
• Identify gaps in data, infrastructure, APIs, and capabilities while developing the roadmap to address them.
• Partner with the CEO, CPO, and senior leadership on technology strategy, product opportunities, and business outcomes.

Requirements

• Experience leading engineering organizations through post-acquisition integration, rapid scaling, or major technological retooling.
• Hands-on experience integrating AI into engineering workflows and strong technical architecture judgment.
• Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience setting a fast execution tempo, removing delivery obstacles, and connecting engineering investments to revenue, margin, and growth.
• Strong focus on security, infrastructure, data integrity, system resilience, and platform trust.
• Experience with two-sided marketplace platforms serving B2B and B2C audiences.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with the art world, luxury goods, or cultural industries.
• Background as a technical cofounder or early-stage CTO who built and shipped products with small, high-output teams.
