Engineering Manager, Enterprise (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA; hybrid policy requiring staff to be in an Anthropic office at least 25% of the time

Annual salary: $405,000–$485,000 USD

What you will do

• Lead and develop an engineering team building features and foundations that make Claude enterprise-ready at scale.
• Own engineering execution, including planning, prioritization, delivery quality, team health, and incident response.
• Partner with engineering teams to build extensible platforms that are easy to adopt across Claude.ai, Claude Code, and API.
• Work with sales and customer success on enterprise deals, customer requirements, and engineering representation in key conversations.
• Shape the roadmap with product and design while driving compliance and platform-readiness work with security and legal.
• Recruit, onboard, mentor, and provide direct feedback to engineers while building a healthy, high-performing team.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as an engineering manager.
• Experience with enterprise SaaS, cloud services, or administrative tools.
• Ability to work at a fast pace while maintaining robust, reliable, high-quality products.
• Experience working with enterprise customers, sales, and customer success.
• Strong engineering management skills, including clear feedback, effective 1:1s, and investment in team growth.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or professional experience in a relevant field.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI/ML products and enterprise AI deployment.
• Knowledge of SOC 2, HIPAA, enterprise audit logging, data residency, and data sovereignty requirements.
• Experience building integrations, permissions, billing, or pricing infrastructure.
• Startup experience scaling enterprise platforms from early adoption to broad deployment.
• Experience collaborating with research teams to improve domain-specific model capabilities.
