TL;DR
Compliance Manager, Government Contracts, Trade and Corporate Compliance (ITAR/EAR, FAR/DFARS): Owning export-control, federal procurement, and corporate compliance programs for metal additive manufacturing systems sold into aerospace, defense, space, and other regulated markets with an accent on regulatory classification, licensing, clause flowdowns, and policy implementation. Focus on managing deemed exports, restricted-party screening, government-contract obligations, cybersecurity compliance documentation, and reporting material risks to legal leadership and the Audit Committee.

What you will do
- Own the export compliance program for hardware, software, technology, and technical data under ITAR and EAR, including classifications, licensing, deemed exports, recordkeeping, and pre-disclosure reviews.
- Run restricted-party, sanctions, and end-use screening for customers, suppliers, partners, and visitors.
- Review federal solicitations, contracts, subcontracts, and flowdowns under FAR and DFARS; maintain clause matrices, certifications, registrations, and priority-rated order processes.
- Support contractual and documentation requirements for NIST SP 800-171, CMMC, and supply-chain cybersecurity compliance.
- Own the compliance policy library, Code of Conduct certification cycle, records retention schedule, AI acceptable-use policy, and third-party due diligence program.
- Build training and monitoring programs, track compliance obligations and deadlines, and report metrics and material issues to the Chief Legal Officer and Audit Committee.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Seven or more years of export control and/or government contracts compliance experience in aerospace, defense, or regulated manufacturing, with hands-on experience in both regimes.
- Working knowledge of ITAR, EAR, FAR, and DFARS, including classification, licensing, deemed exports, recordkeeping, and clause flowdown practices.
- Experience drafting and implementing compliance policies and procedures from scratch.
- Strong written communication, independent judgment, prioritization skills, and sound escalation judgment.
- Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement in Fremont, California.
Nice to have
- Experience serving as or supporting an Empowered Official.
- Experience with priority-rated orders, NIST SP 800-171, CMMC, supply-chain cybersecurity flowdowns, AI governance, or technology risk assessment.
- Experience in additive manufacturing, industrial capital equipment, or combined hardware and software products.
- Familiarity with aerospace quality management systems and audit processes.
- CUSECO, CPCM, CCEP, or a similar professional certification.
