Data Engineer (ClickHouse)

Location: Jerusalem, Israel; hybrid schedule with office attendance required two days per week on Mondays and Wednesdays

What you will do

• Design and evolve data models and schemas for analytical workloads in collaboration with BI and Analytics teams.
• Optimize ClickHouse schemas, partitioning, indexing, compression, and complex analytical queries to improve performance and reduce costs.
• Develop and maintain a SQL Compiler layer that translates high-level queries into optimized ClickHouse execution plans.
• Build, troubleshoot, and maintain reliable ETL/ELT pipelines, ensuring data freshness, consistency, and quality.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, deduplication, validation, anomaly detection, and other data-quality controls.
• Collaborate with Integration, Infrastructure, Product, Analytics, and other teams on data ingestion, high availability, disaster recovery, and effective data access.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a Data Engineer.
• Strong SQL skills, including complex analytical queries and query optimization.
• Experience with data modeling, schema design, and building and maintaining ETL/ELT data pipelines.
• Experience troubleshooting and optimizing systems handling large data volumes, high throughput, and complex queries.
• Familiarity with columnar databases such as ClickHouse, BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake, or similar.
• High-level written and spoken English and the ability to work from the Jerusalem office two days per week are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with ClickHouse, real-time or streaming pipelines, SQL compilers, query engines, or distributed systems.
• Experience with data-quality frameworks, observability tools, infrastructure as code, or open-source data projects.
• Familiarity with Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, or similar orchestration tools.
• Experience in ecommerce, analytics, or BI platforms.
