Senior Optomechanical / Mechatronics Engineer (Semiconductor Equipment)

Salary: $147,000–$202,500 per year

What you will do

• Architect precision subsystems, including motion stages, positioning systems, alignment and metrology interfaces, and optomechanical integrations.
• Define system-level performance metrics for accuracy, repeatability, thermal stability, and vibration.
• Perform trade-off analyses across performance, cost, and technical risk.
• Develop early design concepts and support system-level design reviews.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders on feasibility, specifications, procurement, and assembly of mechanical components.
• Oversee manufacturing and installation processes while resolving technical issues throughout the product life cycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in precision engineering or semiconductor equipment.
• Strong experience with motion systems, precision stages, and controls integration.
• Experience defining system requirements and architecture.
• Ability to work in Santa Clara, California.

Nice to have

• Optomechanical system integration experience.
• Experience with sub-micron positioning systems.
