Senior Engineer (AI/Fintech)

Location: Hybrid, NYC office in Manhattan

Salary: $175,000–$230,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Lead the design and delivery of complex product features and platform systems from scoping and architecture through production and iteration.
• Establish engineering patterns and standards for building, testing, observing, and iterating across product and platform work.
• Apply AI development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex to improve individual and team velocity.
• Drive decisions around data models, service boundaries, system tradeoffs, and scalable architecture.
• Mentor engineers, provide substantive feedback, and serve as a technical resource across the team.
• Partner with Product, Design, and financial advisor customers to solve ambiguous workflow problems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional engineering experience.
• Daily, advanced use of AI development tools and the ability to make reliable decisions about where AI belongs in a system.
• Experience leading projects end-to-end from ambiguous problem definition to production with measurable business impact.
• Strong full-stack or platform engineering depth, with the ability to work across Rails, React, Next.js, PostgreSQL, and GraphQL.
• Strong system design, technical communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.

Nice to have

• Production experience building AI-powered features, LLM integrations, agentic workflows, retrieval pipelines, or intelligent automations.
• Experience with LLM evaluation frameworks such as RAGAS, LangSmith, or custom evaluation harnesses.
• Fintech expertise in financial services, wealth management, regulatory compliance, or financial data integrations.
• Experience with vector databases, embedding pipelines, or retrieval-augmented generation at scale.
• Fluency with macOS toolchains, CI/CD, AWS or GCP, and observability platforms such as Datadog or Honeycomb.
