Engineer IV, Cybersecurity

Location: Gaithersburg, Maryland, United States; 4–5 days in the office

What you will do

• Design, implement, maintain, configure, and optimize EDR, NDR, SIEM, and SOAR technologies.
• Conduct proactive threat hunts and monitor endpoint and network data for suspicious activity.
• Analyze security alerts, incidents, malware, and digital forensic artifacts, including reverse engineering investigations.
• Lead STRIDE-based threat modeling and cyber evaluations during architecture reviews and software assessments.
• Identify, document, track, and remediate cybersecurity gaps between corporate IT and TRISO fuel facility environments.
• Coordinate with infrastructure teams and technology vendors, and prepare technical reports and recommendations.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance or higher.
• Typically 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or a related field.
• CISSP certification and experience managing EDR, NDR, and SIEM tools, including Splunk.
• Experience with Identity and Access Management, Federation, MFA, PKI, AWS, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, and DevSecOps.
• Experience integrating cybersecurity tools into enterprise cybersecurity programs and using AI, ML, and orchestration to secure environments.
• High school diploma required; strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in the nuclear industry or familiarity with nuclear facility operations and regulatory requirements.
• Networking experience covering architecture, protocols, and security.
• Experience with software evaluations, technology assessments, STRIDE or similar threat modeling, and repeatable cyber evaluation processes.
• Experience bridging corporate IT and operational technology or facility security programs.
