Senior PCB Designer

Location: Onsite at the office in Pleasanton, California, United States. Travel up to 5%.

Salary: $142,113–$186,063 per year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Develop schematics, custom footprints, component placement, and signal routing for complex digital, analog, and power multilayer PCBAs.
• Define PCB design rules, layer stack-ups, and via strategies, including HDI approaches.
• Lead and participate in design reviews, incorporate feedback, and resolve Design Rule Check issues.
• Prepare BOMs, Gerber/ODB++ files, drill files, assembly packages, and manufacturing drawings.
• Review designs for manufacturability, scrub BOMs, and work with PCB fabricators and assembly vendors.
• Support board bring-up, validation, troubleshooting, ECOs, and design-file lifecycle management in laboratory settings.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional PCB layout experience, including fabrication and manufacturing support.
• Technical degree, relevant certification, or equivalent hands-on industry or military experience.
• Proficiency with modern PCB design tools, preferably Altium Designer, and experience with HDI layouts and multilayer boards.
• Strong knowledge of grounding strategies, power routing, electronic systems, PCB fabrication, and manufacturing documentation.
• Experience with laboratory instrumentation and electronic test equipment.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee or asylee, or otherwise qualify under applicable U.S. export-control authorization.

Nice to have

• Controlled-impedance design, differential-pair routing, and tight length matching.
• Mixed-signal or low-noise analog circuit design experience.
• IPC certifications and experience with RoHS, CE, EMI/EMC, or UL compliance.
• Curiosity about electronics fundamentals and quantum technology applications.
