AI&T Precision Cleaning Technician (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Assemble, clean, inspect, repair, maintain, and reassemble aerospace hardware, including space suit life-support components, test rigs, and ground support systems.
• Process components to specified cleanliness levels using precision ultrasonic, acid, and caustic cleaning methods.
• Maintain precision cleaning laboratory equipment and perform performance and functional testing using pressurized gases and pure water systems.
• Incorporate Engineering Changes and work according to documented procedures and work-authorizing documents.
• Coordinate daily with customers, technicians, engineers, logistics, bond room personnel, and external NASA engineering, safety, and quality organizations.
• Complete required online and classroom training to maintain job certifications.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent GED.
• 15–20 years of experience in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with precision cleaning and cleanliness verification for xEMU/EMU hardware.
• Knowledge of NASA precision cleaning standards, contamination control requirements, and documentation for flight hardware cleanliness verification.
• Experience using precision tools and measuring devices, with the ability to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
• Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation and provide proof of U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent residency.
