Location: On site in Arlington, Virginia, United States; U.S. citizenship required.

Base salary: $130,000–$195,000 annually. Estimated total compensation: $151,000–$263,000, including target bonus and estimated equity value.

What you will do

• Build and own the financial model, including annual planning, headcount tracking, board reporting, and scenario analysis.
• Run semi-annual budgeting, ongoing headcount planning, and financial reporting infrastructure.
• Translate financial performance into actionable insights for leaders across the organization.
• Partner with the founders and VP Finance on fundraising, data-room preparation, investor diligence, executive updates, and board reporting.
• Run operating systems for compensation design, offer generation, performance structure, and spend policies.
• Lead special projects across real estate, market research, vendor strategy, and software procurement.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• On-site work in Arlington, Virginia is required.
• 1–5 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or strategic finance at a top-tier startup.
• Advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills, including three-statement and scenario modeling.
• Strong analytical, communication, structured problem-solving, and generalist operating skills.
• Ability to work independently with urgency and strong attention to detail.

Nice to have

• Background or interest in software, AI, cybersecurity, defense, or intelligence.
• Daily use of AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Claude Code, Cowork, Rogo, or Hebbia.
• Ability to create images with Nano Banana.
