What you will do

• Own incoming, in-process, and final inspection for a new precision CNC manufacturing facility, including inspection plans and first-article inspection.
• Exercise independent authority to stop work or hold product that does not meet specifications.
• Lead nonconformance disposition, corrective action, and root-cause closure for recurring defects.
• Establish the calibration program and maintain measurement system integrity.
• Build the QMS, document control, and inspection records with readiness for AS9100 and ISO 9001.
• Hire, develop, and lead Quality Engineers and QA/Inspection Technicians while reporting quality performance and risk to plant leadership.

Requirements

• 7+ years of quality experience in CNC machining or precision manufacturing, including standing up or scaling a quality function.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on quality management experience.
• Strong engineering fundamentals and the ability to make clear recommendations using first-principles reasoning with partial information.
• Experience with nonconformance management, corrective action, inspection planning, and quality records.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends when necessary.

Nice to have

• Experience building or maintaining a QMS to AS9100 or ISO 9001 standards.
• Hands-on experience with CMM, optical comparators, or other precision inspection equipment.
• Experience supporting a new or growing CNC machine shop and qualifying new parts.
• Working knowledge of GD&T and precision-machined part drawings.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, nuclear, or another regulated manufacturing environment.
