What you will do

  • Develop radiological protection programs and strategies for nuclear facility design and licensing.
  • Perform radiological analyses and dose assessments for workers, the public, and the environment.
  • Prepare radiological safety documentation, including environmental impact statements and safety analysis reports.
  • Integrate shielding, ventilation, and monitoring systems into facility designs with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Evaluate radiological instrumentation and support regulatory reviews, inspections, and hearings.
  • Develop and deliver training on radiological protection standards and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Physics, Radiological Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with radiation protection software and modeling tools such as MCNP, SCALE, or MicroShield.
  • Strong knowledge of 10 CFR Part 20, NRC guidance, DOE orders, and international standards.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals, analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to prepare technical reports and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends when necessary.

Nice to have

  • Experience in radiological protection within the nuclear industry, especially fuel cycle facilities or reactor licensing.
  • Certified Health Physicist (CHP) certification or equivalent.
  • Advanced degree or evidence of exceptional ability through prior projects or completed products.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, highly technical, or entrepreneurial engineering environments.
