Frontend Engineering Lead

Location: On-site in Arlington, Virginia; limited to U.S. citizens

Base salary: $192,000–$281,000 annually. Estimated total compensation: $281,000–$455,000, including target bonus and estimated equity value.

What you will do

• Architect and build sophisticated React and TypeScript applications for real-time cyber operation data.
• Design high-performance interfaces, interactive visualizations, graphs, timelines, and streaming views.
• Lead frontend architecture, reusable component patterns, and design system development.
• Establish engineering standards through code reviews, testing strategy, performance practices, and reliability improvements.
• Collaborate with backend, product, design, and operations stakeholders to deliver end-to-end capabilities for cloud and on-premises environments.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead frontend performance investigations and production troubleshooting.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required due to U.S. government contract and security requirements.
• 8+ years of professional frontend software development experience.
• Deep production experience with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience leading frontend technical initiatives, mentoring engineers, and building performant applications at scale.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks, state management, Git workflows, code review, and CI integration.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with complex data visualization using D3, Chart.js, or similar tools.
• Experience with graph databases and graph query patterns, such as Neo4j.
• Experience with real-time streaming data and live-system visualization.
• Background in defense, security, or other mission-critical domains.
• Experience surfacing AI/ML outputs in operational workflows or developing component libraries with tools such as Storybook.
