Senior Backend Cloud Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Build cloud backends and data pipelines with cross-functional engineering, product, and design teams.
• Design, own, and operate microservices and distributed backend systems from architecture through production deployment.
• Lead technical delivery across architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and operations.
• Develop performant and reliable backend services and APIs.
• Apply CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, observability, and test automation practices.
• Mentor engineers and promote ownership, learning, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience as a cloud or backend engineer.
• Experience designing production microservices and distributed systems, including fault tolerance, consistency, and scalability.
• Strong API design and asynchronous systems experience with robust error handling.
• Hands-on AWS experience, including serverless and cloud-native architectures, plus Azure services.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or CDK.
• Strong Python and Golang experience, with knowledge of data pipelines, cloud-native streaming, observability, tracing, and system performance.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kafka, high-throughput systems, or large-scale distributed platforms.
• Cybersecurity experience, including IAM, access control, RBAC, or products for security teams.
• Experience with GitHub Actions, compliance standards, or cloud security frameworks.
• Startup experience.
