Facility Engineer – HVAC and Local Exhaust Systems

Location: Tokyo (Takao), Japan; onsite facility role

What you will do

• Maintain, inspect, service, and improve HVAC systems, local exhaust systems, and related equipment.
• Review specifications and verify capacity, connections, layouts, and safety requirements for local exhaust systems.
• Coordinate facility-side construction and installation activities for new production equipment.
• Assess local exhaust capacity during production expansion projects and propose improvements.
• Investigate equipment failures, implement temporary countermeasures, and execute permanent corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing, Production Engineering, EHS, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• Experience maintaining HVAC systems in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic knowledge and practical experience with local exhaust systems.
• Experience coordinating facility activities for equipment installation, facility modifications, or production equipment start-up.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with departments and contractors.

Nice to have

• Experience designing, installing, maintaining, managing, or conducting periodic self-inspections of local exhaust systems.
• Certification as an instructor for periodic self-inspection of local exhaust systems, or equivalent knowledge and experience.
• Facility management experience at a semiconductor factory, cleanroom, or manufacturing site.
• Experience with production equipment installation, capacity expansion, or equipment capacity evaluation.
• Basic English communication skills.
