AI IT Infrastructure Director

Location: El Segundo, California, United States

Salary: $200,000–$250,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and incentive plans.

What you will do

• Define and deliver the technical vision, strategy, and services for scalable AI infrastructure and cloud compute.
• Evaluate and pilot emerging AI technologies, establish AI operations best practices, and create playbooks for different departments.
• Manage servers, networks, storage, virtualization, endpoints, operating systems, backups, and recovery processes.
• Lead the IT support and helpdesk function, including 24/7 operational coverage, incident management, escalations, KPIs, and service metrics.
• Maintain secure, reliable, and scalable enterprise IT environments across Mac, Windows, and Linux systems.
• Partner with executives, Compute, Networking, Hardware Product Groups, and Cybersecurity on infrastructure transformation, deployments, compliance, and security.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• 15+ years of experience in IT administration, systems, and user support, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• At least 2 years focused on AI tool usage, adoption, and implementation, with an understanding of architectural implications and enterprise security considerations.
• Experience managing and leading a small support team, ticketing systems, incident handling, and service desk operations.
• Strong networking knowledge, including routing, switching, and firewalls, plus Windows Server administration and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, JAMF, Intune, Active Directory, Python, Java, PowerShell, and Mac, Windows, and Linux environments.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Ubuntu, RHEL, CentOS, Solaris, FreeBSD, AIX, and Unix-like operating systems.
• Shell scripting experience with Bash or Zsh for automation and system management.
• Experience with server hardware, RAID storage, physical server racks, SQL Server, Apache, Nginx, and email servers.
• CompTIA, ITIL, or other relevant IT certifications.
