Staff DevOps Engineer (Robotics)

What you will do

• Design, provision, and operate hybrid infrastructure spanning bare-metal servers, data centers, and Google Cloud.
• Build reliable, scalable infrastructure for CI/CD pipelines, ML workflows, and robotics simulation environments.
• Define SLOs, participate in on-call rotations, lead post-mortem reviews, and drive systemic reliability improvements.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code standards with Terraform, Ansible, and Packer across physical and virtual environments.
• Harden infrastructure through secrets management, RBAC, network segmentation, patching, and secure-by-default configurations.
• Partner with software and robotics engineers to deliver infrastructure solutions for core engineering work.

Requirements

• 5+ years of DevOps or infrastructure engineering experience in production on-premises and cloud environments.
• Hands-on experience managing bare-metal server infrastructure at scale and strong production Kubernetes experience, including cloud-managed and self-hosted clusters.
• Deep knowledge of Google Cloud Platform or AWS, including compute, networking, storage, Kubernetes, and cost management.
• Proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, Packer, observability platforms, CI/CD systems, and artifact management tools.
• Knowledge of secrets management, RBAC, service account governance, and network security practices.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, Bash, Rust, or C++, plus a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with robotics infrastructure, high-throughput telemetry, large-scale simulation pipelines, or hardware-in-the-loop testing.
• Experience modernizing legacy systems or migrating services across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments while maintaining high uptime.
• Advanced observability expertise for diagnosing performance bottlenecks across distributed, hybrid, and physical network layers.
