Senior Software Engineer, AI Platform (AI)

What you will do

• Build unit and integration test infrastructure for Python services, including mocked LLM responses, fixtures, and staging-environment tests.
• Own the reliability, performance, and maintainability of Python/FastAPI microservices serving the cybersecurity platform.
• Harden production services with security fixes, structured logging, health checks, metrics, and distributed tracing.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines with automated tests, lint checks, and quality gates.
• Design caching, rate limiting, and circuit-breaker strategies for Anthropic, Azure ML, and package registry integrations.
• Collaborate with AI scientists on prompt engineering, output parsing, and reliable LLM integration patterns while mentoring engineers.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong backend focus.
• Deep Python expertise, including production code design, dataclasses, Pydantic, and asynchronous programming.
• Experience building service test suites with pytest, mocking, fixtures, and external dependencies.
• Experience with FastAPI or an equivalent modern Python web framework and production REST APIs.
• Experience with Azure or another cloud platform, managed containers, Kubernetes, databases, identity systems, and cloud CI/CD.
• Experience engineering CI/CD pipelines and working with Docker, code reviews, and cross-functional collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience with Anthropic, OpenAI, or Azure OpenAI APIs, including token limits, prompt design, structured output parsing, and retries.
• Experience with structlog, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, or APM platforms.
• Exposure to cybersecurity, vulnerability management, or compliance-sensitive environments.
• Experience owning services end-to-end on a small startup engineering team.
• Familiarity with RAG, embedding pipelines, or vector databases.
