AI Engineer (Agentic Systems)

What you will do

• Design and own the agent harness layer and long-horizon agentic workflows.
• Develop robust evaluation and quality loops, including regression testing and failure taxonomies.
• Define model strategy, including routing, benchmarking, and cost/latency optimization.
• Implement observability, tracing, and alerting for agent systems.
• Research novel AI approaches and ship them directly to production.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States
• Proven experience building agentic systems using provider APIs or frameworks like LangGraph, PydanticAI, or Vercel AI SDK.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals with depth in Python and/or TypeScript.
• Experience with distributed or real-time systems.
• Track record of owning complex problems end-to-end and shipping production systems.
• Research-and-ship mindset with strong product instincts.

Nice to have

• Experience taking a customer-facing product from 0 to 1.
• Background in building coding agents, devtools, or IDE assistants.
• Experience designing evaluation frameworks or MCP-style tool protocols.
• Experience training or fine-tuning LLMs.
