Principal Platform Security Architect (AI Hardware)

Location: Full-time onsite in Austin, Texas or Sunnyvale, California, United States

Salary: $250,000–$300,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Own the platform threat model and security architecture from fabrication through field deployment.
• Architect the silicon root of trust, including RoT IP integration, key provisioning, fuse and OTP strategy, and debug authorization.
• Define secure and measured boot, firmware resiliency, signed OTA updates, and anti-rollback protection.
• Own device attestation using SPDM and DICE, as well as security telemetry for datacenter operators.
• Drive alignment with OCP security profiles and DMTF specifications.
• Lead the outsourced root-of-trust subsystem engagement and support customer and hyperscaler security reviews.

Requirements

• 10+ years of hardware and firmware security architecture experience on shipped silicon.
• Hands-on experience integrating root-of-trust IP, including provisioning and fuse/OTP planning.
• Experience designing secure boot chains and firmware resiliency to NIST SP 800-193-class requirements.
• Working knowledge of SPDM, DICE, MCTP, PLDM, cryptographic primitives, key hierarchies, and secure key storage in silicon.
• Ability to write implementable security specifications and defend architectural decisions to external reviewers.
• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with OCP Security profiles and Caliptra.
• Side-channel and fault-injection countermeasure design experience.
• FIPS or Common Criteria certification experience.
• Background in confidential computing, trusted execution environments, post-quantum cryptography migration, or supply chain security.
• Experience with hyperscaler security reviews and manufacturing-side provisioning flows.
