Head of Security (AI)

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States; listed as on-site in the location details and hybrid in the role description.

Salary: $220,000–$260,000 annually, plus annual bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Unify the organizational security strategy across stochastic and non-stochastic software, identifying and prioritizing current and emerging threats.
• Lead offensive and defensive security initiatives across cryptographic, cloud, and machine learning platforms.
• Advise executive leadership and partner organizations on prioritized security risk mitigation.
• Oversee production security engineering focused on anomaly detection, prevention, and autonomous fault detection.
• Develop long-term security strategies for machine learning and AI ecosystems.
• Conduct vulnerability research and design advanced security controls, digital security devices, and platforms for high-stakes environments.

Requirements

• Extensive experience as a Security Architect, Senior Security Engineering Manager, or Technical Security Advisor operating at scale.
• Exceptional executive leadership, security strategy, and product security skills.
• Deep expertise in machine learning security, vulnerability research, self-healing systems, and cryptography.
• Advanced degree in security informatics, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• CISSP or equivalent certification or experience is strongly preferred.
• Ability to work in the Cambridge, Massachusetts area in the stated on-site or hybrid arrangement.

Nice to have

• Applied research experience, including committee involvement or publications related to LLM personalization, privacy-preserving architectures, or neural networks.
• Experience architecting security for high-stakes, production-grade environments at scale.
• Experience translating technical research into enterprise-ready security controls.
