Manager, Software Engineering (AI)

Location: Krakow, Poland; candidates within a reasonable commute must work in the office at least 3 days per week.

Salary: PLN 336,000–420,000 per year.

What you will do

• Build and scale the Krakow engineering hub by leading hiring, onboarding, and development across multiple engineering levels.
• Coach direct reports, manage performance and wellbeing, and create effective career development paths.
• Partner with Product Management to align priorities, manage capacity, remove blockers, and deliver high-quality software on schedule.
• Promote AI-accelerated development using tools such as Cursor and Claude.
• Establish engineering standards for code quality, CI/CD, testing, observability, security, reliability, and performance.
• Represent engineering in cross-functional planning and contribute technical and capacity input to product roadmaps and architecture decisions.

Requirements

• Experience leading and growing engineering teams in a SaaS product environment, including hiring, developing, and retaining engineers at multiple seniority levels.
• Hands-on engineering experience building scalable, secure, production-grade applications, ideally with C# or a comparable enterprise stack.
• Experience with cross-functional delivery and alignment across engineering, product, and design stakeholders.
• Strong people management, performance management, career development, and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain high standards for code quality, CI/CD, testing, and observability.
• Ability to work from the Krakow office at least 3 days per week when living within a reasonable commuting distance.

Nice to have

• Experience establishing a new engineering team or office in a greenfield or hub-expansion context.
• Experience in finance, accounting, fintech, or another regulated industry.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures and AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of Responsible AI principles and responsible use of AI-generated code.
• Experience collaborating across time zones in distributed organizations.
