Head of European Core Processing (Payments)

Location: Based in Warsaw, Poland; the organization operates across Warsaw and Prague.

What you will do

• Lead and develop a technology organization of approximately 250 software professionals across Warsaw and Prague.
• Define the technology strategy for European core payment processing platforms and align it with business priorities.
• Partner with Product and technology leadership to deliver a stable roadmap with strong quality, pace, and throughput.
• Own a multi-year migration program moving business-critical traffic from legacy systems to go-forward platforms across Europe.
• Serve as the senior technology partner for European core payment processing, working with joint ventures, business leaders, and global technology stakeholders.
• Ensure commercial, legal, financial, security, compliance, architecture, engineering, testing, and delivery requirements are reflected in the technology strategy.

Requirements

• 20+ years of experience in technology change management, including business and commercial considerations.
• 5+ years of experience managing large software organizations.
• Experience scaling engineering teams across multiple locations in a global environment.
• Experience leading large-scale, high-availability, low-latency platforms, ideally in payments or another highly regulated environment.
• Experience leading live real-time platform migrations and complex transformation programs with senior stakeholders.
• Ability to translate business vision into deliverable software components and build a strong engineering culture.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in a technical or business discipline.
• Knowledge of the payments industry, cloud technologies, and lean/agile practices.
• Experience engaging with boards or joint venture partners on technology strategy and business outcomes.
• Experience with modern engineering practices such as CI/CD, test automation, TDD, or BDD.
