Forward Deployed Engineer

What you will do

• Own complex customer onboardings and bring rental operators live by diagnosing synchronization and data-mapping issues.
• Investigate live production problems across PMS connectors, synchronization services, the hirify.global platform, and third-party property-management systems.
• Read logs and traces, identify root causes, implement fixes, deploy them safely, and verify resolution in production.
• Work directly with operators and account-management or onboarding teams to explain issues and unblock launches.
• Turn recurring onboarding failures into durable engineering fixes, connector improvements, and product feedback.
• Reduce technically driven churn and improve units launched, time-to-go-live, and onboarding completion.

Requirements

• Ability to read and modify backend code in Python, Go, Node.js/TypeScript, or a similar language.
• Strong understanding of APIs, data models, service boundaries, and third-party integrations.
• Experience handling divergent data models, rate limits, webhook behavior, undocumented API behavior, and schema drift.
• Hands-on production-debugging experience across distributed systems, including logs, traces, and safe fixes under time pressure.
• Ability to work directly with frustrated customers while maintaining technical rigor and clear communication.

Nice to have

• Experience in vacation rentals, property-management systems, channel management, or similar multi-system integration domains.
• Familiarity with Streamline, Hostaway, Guesty, Escapia, or similar PMS platforms.
• A bias toward eliminating recurring system problems instead of relying on manual workarounds.
