Technical Control Engineer (Robotics)

Location: USA remote with up to 15% travel to client and customer locations; availability for scheduled EST shifts required

Salary: $71,000–$97,900 base annually, plus benefits

What you will do

• Resolve complex technical support requests through ticketing systems, phone, email, and chat.
• Provide advanced remote support for robotic, electro-mechanical, controls, software, networking, and infrastructure issues.
• Troubleshoot automation systems, PLCs, motors, VFDs, motion control systems, applications, and networks.
• Lead high-priority incidents, coordinate cross-functional resources, and communicate status to stakeholders.
• Monitor performance metrics, logs, and trends; drive root cause analysis and preventative improvements.
• Develop knowledge-base content, support site transitions from Hypercare to steady state, and perform maintenance activities such as backups, trend analysis, and I/O checks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, controls, automation engineering, or a related technical field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience may be considered.
• At least 2 years of experience in technical support, controls, or engineering for complex systems.
• Experience with remote system support using Remote Desktop and SSH.
• Strong TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting skills, including packet sniffers, network probes, and command-line diagnostic tools.
• Proficiency with Linux shell environments and scripting; working knowledge of SQL, ISC DHCP, BIND, server configuration, Active Directory, and Windows/Linux patching.
• Experience with servos, VFDs, Allen Bradley ControlLogix, Ladder Logic, C, and scripting languages; valid driver’s license and ability to travel by car or air.

• Field or industry experience in automation, robotics, warehouse, or supply chain environments.
