Product Engineer (AI)

Location: South San Francisco, United States; On-site

Estimated base salary: $200,000–$300,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Build and own full-stack product features across user interfaces and backend services.
• Design frontend-heavy experiences for interacting with AI agents, workflows, and scientific tools.
• Develop and maintain billing, usage tracking, authentication, permissions, and account management features.
• Translate AI and scientific capabilities into intuitive, production-ready product experiences with researchers, scientists, and engineers.
• Ship quickly, iterate from user feedback, and improve product quality, reliability, and performance.

Requirements

• 2+ years of industry experience as a product, full-stack, or frontend-leaning software engineer.
• Strong experience building modern web applications with React, TypeScript, or similar frameworks.
• Comfort working across frontend, backend, and infrastructure.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across biology, product, engineering, and AI teams.
• Strong product instincts, high autonomy, and a focus on maintainable, high-quality code.

Nice to have

• Experience building AI-powered products, agent interfaces, or developer tools.
• Familiarity with sandboxed or isolated execution environments.
• Experience with billing systems, metering, or enterprise SaaS features.
• Experience working in AI-native teams using coding agents or extensive automation.
• Interest in scientific, biomedical, or research-focused products.
