Operational Accountant (Europe West Region) (m/f/d)

Location: Hybrid, office-first model; the role covers Western Europe, including France, Benelux, and Iberia, and collaborates with a Sofia-based accounting hub.

What you will do

• Oversee accounting and financial operations for France, Benelux, and Iberia in collaboration with the Sofia-based accounting hub.
• Manage timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings, including balance sheet reviews and reconciliations.
• Prepare and review financial statements under local GAAP and IFRS, including mappings and adjustments.
• Coordinate local corporate tax, VAT, and other tax compliance with external advisors.
• Act as a key contact for auditors and HQ on reporting, accounting, and tax matters.
• Partner with FP&A, Billing, operational teams, shared services, and local stakeholders to improve finance processes and automation.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in an accounting firm, audit, accounting, or advisory environment.
• Strong foundations in accounting and financial statements, with an analytical mindset and high attention to detail.
• Experience with multinational environments or IFRS is advantageous.
• Ability to work with complex financial flows and balance group standards with local requirements.
• Proficiency in Excel.
• Fluent English is required; French or Portuguese is advantageous.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Portuguese or French GAAP, accounting standards, and tax regulations.
• Experience with IFRS in a multinational environment.
