Clinical Laboratory Leader

Salary: $115,000–$140,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead the setup, validation, and compliant go-live of an on-site clinical laboratory under CLIA, CMS, and New York State requirements.
• Validate Abbott Alinity instruments and assays, including accuracy, precision, reportable range, reference intervals, and analytical performance.
• Establish safe, efficient, repeatable SOPs, workflows, and validation practices.
• Maintain inspection readiness through complete validation, quality control, maintenance, and corrective-action records.
• Own day-to-day laboratory performance, testing quality, turnaround times, instrument reliability, and technical escalations.
• Manage, coach, and develop the Laboratory Technologist team through feedback, mentoring, and technical training.

Requirements

• Active New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist license, generalist
• 5+ years of experience in high-complexity clinical laboratory environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with automated chemistry and immunoassay platforms.
• Demonstrated experience with laboratory validation, quality systems, and CLIA requirements.

Nice to have

• MLS (ASCP) or equivalent certification.
• Experience with Abbott Alinity or Abbott ARCHITECT platforms.
• Ownership of laboratory setup, instrument validation, or go-live activities.
• Experience overseeing clinical laboratory operations.
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems such as Epic or Cerner.
