Optical Manufacturing Test Engineer (Photonics)

Location: Singapore. International travel is required.

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and execute Python-based automated test frameworks and test cases for high-volume manufacturing of optical components and modules.
• Perform functional, regression, and performance testing of Layer 1 and Layer 2 network systems with optical interfaces, network switches, and IXIA traffic generators.
• Own manufacturing test software changes, revision control, bug tracking, tester updates, regression testing, test logs, and QMS compliance.
• Collaborate with optical design, hardware, manufacturing, quality, software, IT, and database teams on DFM, DFT, calibration, qualification, and troubleshooting.
• Analyze yield, cycle time, throughput, scrap, and manufacturing test data while implementing continuous improvement plans.
• Generate test reports and develop troubleshooting guidelines, automated tools, templates, and data-analysis solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field, plus 7 years of hands-on experience in software testing and test automation for optical transceiver products.
• Hands-on experience with optical transceiver testing, including Silicon Photonics; experience with 400G, 800G, or 1.6T transceiver modules is preferred.
• Strong Python and/or C# skills, including automation scripting and database integration with SQL or NoSQL.
• Experience with unit and integration testing, version control workflows such as GitHub, Bitbucket, or SVN, and test data logging and analysis.
• Knowledge of Layer 1 and Layer 2 networking, optical testing, network switches, IXIA, hardware protocols such as NI-VISA, SCPI, RS-232, and TCP/IP, and OOP concepts.
• Experience with yield analysis, SPC, GR&R, tester correlation, quality management systems, reliability testing, and manufacturing process improvement; strong written and verbal English communication is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with LabVIEW, Visual Basic, or shell scripting.
• Experience with Windows Forms or WPF.
• SQL or NoSQL database integration experience for test data logging and analysis.
