Senior Software Automation Engineer (Photonics)

Salary: CAD 71,450–102,100 per year, with potential annual bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and implement optical test and verification strategies to transition products from design into full-scale production.
• Characterize optical parameters using electrical and optical test and measurement equipment.
• Apply advanced data analysis methods to identify insights, solve technical challenges, and improve optical designs.
• Integrate AI tools into test and characterization workflows.
• Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to align product requirements.
• Create scalable, documented test solutions and validate products using Agile methodologies.

Requirements

• Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of relevant product development experience in optical components, photonics, or telecom systems.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced test automation and software development proficiency.
• Experience designing or testing optical components and subsystems for optical communications.
• Experience with Python, Flutter, Dart, VB.NET, or C#, plus packages, frameworks, version control systems such as Git, and Agile software development tools.
