Data Analyst, Business Intelligence (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid in Toronto, Canada, with in-office days

What you will do

• Design, build, maintain, and govern core dashboards, reporting infrastructure, and self-serve BI tools.
• Partner with the Analytics Engineer to translate business requirements into data models, write specifications, validate outputs, and align metric definitions.
• Define and maintain an authoritative metrics library with calculation rules, ownership, and discrepancy resolution across Finance and RevOps.
• Use AI to accelerate SQL drafting, documentation, analysis, self-serve tooling, and BI accessibility while applying appropriate guardrails.
• Support QBRs, board preparation, performance reporting, and exploratory analysis for the Chief of Staff, Head of Data, Finance, RevOps, GTM, and Sales.
• Identify data model gaps and quality issues, and help prioritize infrastructure improvements based on business impact.

Requirements

• 2–4+ years of experience as a BI or business analyst, ideally in a high-growth fintech or SaaS company.
• Strong SQL skills, including CTEs, window functions, and aggregations, with the ability to explain queries to non-technical stakeholders.
• Deep experience owning a BI environment in Metabase, Looker, Tableau, Sigma, or a similar tool.
• Ability to read dbt models, understand data lineage, and contribute to a dbt project.
• Experience using AI tools for SQL, documentation, or analysis, with sound judgment about their limitations and guardrails.
• Structured analytical thinking, strong written communication, curiosity about the business, and proactive collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting senior audiences.
• Familiarity with Snowflake or a similar cloud data warehouse.
• Python experience for automation or analysis outside SQL.
