Senior Compute Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Consistent on-site work at the Portland, Oregon headquarters; legal authorization to work in the United States is required. Relocation assistance to Portland is available.

Salary: $150,000–$200,000, plus company equity.

What you will do

• Architect, build, and operate internal and external-facing infrastructure across on-premise datacenters and cloud environments.
• Develop automated tools and infrastructure-as-code for reliable, performant, and secure application hosting.
• Deploy, monitor, upgrade, and migrate business-critical applications and platform workloads.
• Implement new servers, network equipment, applications, end-user devices, and other infrastructure.
• Administer third-party SaaS applications and document system architecture, procedures, and protocols.
• Monitor systems and networks, investigate threats, and respond to incidents to maintain business continuity.

Requirements

• Ability to work consistently on-site at the Portland, Oregon headquarters.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• 5+ years of directly relevant experience in infrastructure engineering or administration.
• Extensive experience administering Windows, Linux, and macOS systems with automated tools and processes.
• Experience with configuration management and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or Terraform.
• Experience with virtualized or containerized hosting platforms, hyperconverged infrastructure, IPv4 networking, switching, routing, firewalls, high availability, and scripting with Bash, Python, or PowerShell.

Nice to have

• 10+ years of relevant working or research experience.
• Experience supporting custom IoT software and hardware, engineering software such as CAD/CAM or simulation tools, or HPC clusters.
• Experience with vulnerability management, red-teaming, and security analysis.
• Startup or interdisciplinary team experience, including mentorship, training, teaching, or technical writing.
