TL;DR
Architecture Modeling Engineer (AI): Developing transaction-level and cycle-accurate models for next-generation AI processors with an accent on throughput, latency, power, performance, and area analysis. Location: Austin, TX or Palo Alto, CA; hybrid

Salary: $120,000–$225,000+ annually

What you will do

  • Architect and create transaction-level, cycle-accurate, and other hardware models.
  • Build models that simulate custom AI software and predict how compiler-generated workloads will run on silicon.
  • Develop prototype models to estimate power, performance, and area for new chip architectures.
  • Create cycle-accurate hardware models using C++ and SystemC.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to co-design and co-verify hardware implementations.
  • Investigate architectural concepts developed with other system components and use modeling to guide software optimization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience creating performance models for architectural investigations; academic modeling work may count, and the requirement may be reduced for AI systems modeling experience.
  • Academic and practical knowledge of CPUs, memory systems, bus interconnects, security, chip interfaces, and related hardware concepts.
  • Proficiency with C++ and SystemC for hardware modeling.
  • Experience with hardware performance and/or power modeling.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills.
