Location: Cupertino, California, or Austin, Texas, USA

Salary: $168,100–$227,400 annually in Austin, or $193,300–$261,500 annually in Cupertino, plus sign-on payments and RSUs.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain high-fidelity C++ functional models of AI/ML accelerator SoCs and subsystems.
• Model compute engines, memory hierarchies, on-chip interconnects, and data paths based on architecture specifications and RTL behavior.
• Validate models against RTL simulations, emulation platforms, and silicon measurements, driving high-fidelity correlation.
• Integrate models into pre-silicon verification environments and identify architectural issues early.
• Collaborate with architects, RTL designers, ML software engineers, compiler engineers, and design verification teams on hardware decisions.
• Build cycle-approximate performance models, simulation frameworks, regression suites, automated correlation checks, and coverage-driven validation flows.

Requirements

• 6+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, builds, testing, and operations.
• 6+ years building functional or performance models for SoCs, ASICs, GPUs, CPUs, or IP blocks.
• Advanced C++ programming experience.
• Knowledge of SoC, CPU, GPU, and/or ASIC architecture and microarchitecture.
• Experience mentoring, serving as a technical lead, or leading an engineering team.
• Experience with verification concepts or pre-silicon validation environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with design verification teams, RTL correlation, emulation, or silicon validation.
• SystemC, TLM, or cycle-approximate modeling experience.
• Experience developing performance models for custom silicon.
• Experience building regression and CI frameworks, or working with multithreaded and distributed simulation.
• Knowledge of machine learning accelerator architecture and Modern C++20 or later.
