Engineering Systems Manager (Hardware)

Location: Boston office in Charlestown, Massachusetts; minimum 3 days per week onsite

Salary: $128,000–$135,000 per year

What you will do

• Own the core engineering software suite, including Solidworks, PDM, Arena PLM, and Jira, for hardware R&D and manufacturing teams.
• Design and maintain workflows, automations, templates, and engineering processes.
• Troubleshoot software errors, vault access issues, and bugs for mechanical engineering users.
• Maintain documentation standards for file naming, revision control, and bill of materials management.
• Test software updates and new features against existing workflows and automations.
• Manage user permissions, onboarding, offboarding, software licenses, renewals, and vendor relationships.

Requirements

• 3+ years administering CAD, PDM, and PLM software for an engineering team; Solidworks experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience configuring PLM systems such as Teamcenter, Arena, or Propel.
• Experience creating custom Jira automations and workflows.
• Familiarity with hardware product development from prototyping through production.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design processes, parts and assemblies, 3D and 2D CAD, supporting documentation, and PDM/PLM data relationships.
• Ability to troubleshoot calmly under deadline pressure and create technical guides and training materials for engineers.
