TL;DR
Flight Software Engineer (Embedded): Designing, developing, testing, integrating, and deploying embedded flight software for the Axiom Space Station with an accent on safety-critical systems, real-time operating systems, and hardware-in-the-loop testing. Focus on integrating avionics simulations, fault-injection solutions, CI/CD test automation, and software for complex flight subsystems.

Location: Onsite in Webster, Texas, at the Space Station Development Facility; U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required.

What you will do

  • Design, develop, test, integrate, and deploy embedded flight software for Axiom Station.
  • Collaborate with propulsion, ECLSS, GN&C, network, datalink, power, avionics, and other flight-system engineers.
  • Execute test plans and procedures in hardware-in-the-loop testbeds.
  • Support test automation platforms and CI/CD initiatives.
  • Integrate hardware simulations and fault-injection solutions into real-time software.
  • Support PDR, CDR, SDR, design reviews, and code reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, aerospace, mechanical, or computer engineering, computer science, computer information systems, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience developing software in C, C++, Rust, or Python in Linux, VxWorks, or another RTOS environment.
  • Experience with Git-based distributions, CI/CD tools, containerization, and Linux development pipelines.
  • Experience with Serial, Modbus, UDP, and TCP protocols.
  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation and provide proof of U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent residency.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends when required to meet critical project milestones.

  • Experience with spaceflight or other safety-critical systems.
