Flight Software Engineer

Location: Los Angeles, United States; work arrangement: on-site. U.S. Person status is required to access export-controlled data.

Salary: $185,000–$215,000 annual base salary, plus equity.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and own mission-critical software applications for satellite systems.
• Support spacecraft commissioning during launch and early operations.
• Maintain reliable software operation during critical spacecraft activities.
• Own spacecraft software solutions throughout the lifecycle from initial design through deployment.
• Perform unit, integration, and system-level testing, resolving defects and reliability issues.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external customers to define product requirements and technical roadmaps.

Requirements

• U.S. Person status required for access to export-controlled data.
• 8+ years of flight software experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or an equivalent field.
• Strong proficiency in Python, C++, or Rust.
• Experience with real-time systems running on distributed hardware.
• Knowledge of embedded Linux, system administration, Yocto, satellite systems and protocols such as CCSDS and ECSS, network protocols, secure communications, Protobuf, and encryption.
