Senior Flight Software Engineer II (Aerospace)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States. U.S. citizenship is required, and the role requires an active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.

Base pay range: $143,000–$214,000 USD per year, California only.

What you will do

• Develop application software for RTOS and embedded Linux environments.
• Build hardware drivers for IMUs, star trackers, reaction wheels, and other spacecraft sensors and actuators.
• Develop and maintain unit tests within a continuous integration framework.
• Collaborate with hardware-in-the-loop test engineers to verify integrated software and hardware functionality.
• Work with systems and embedded systems engineers to define, document, and validate requirements.
• Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and on-orbit and interplanetary flight operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or an equivalent technical field.
• 8+ years of applicable embedded software development experience.
• Proficiency in C and C++.
• Experience with RTOS or embedded Linux.
• Active Secret Clearance and ability to obtain TS/SCI.
• U.S. citizenship required due to program requirements.

Nice to have

• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Advanced degree.
• Experience with CAN/CAN-FD and UDP/TCP in embedded systems.
• Experience developing software for autonomous vehicles operating in harsh environments, such as satellites.
