Senior Flight Software Engineer I (C/C++)

Salary: $124,000–$171,000 USD per year for California-based roles

What you will do

• Develop application software for RTOS and embedded Linux environments.
• Develop hardware drivers for IMUs, star trackers, reaction wheels, and other spacecraft sensors and actuators.
• Build and maintain unit tests within a continuous integration framework.
• Collaborate with hardware-in-the-loop test engineers to verify and validate software and hardware functionality.
• Work with systems and embedded systems engineers to define, document, and validate requirements, and participate in PDR and CDR design reviews.
• Support on-orbit and interplanetary flight operations and review source-code changes against coding standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or an equivalent technical field.
• Active Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
• At least five years of applicable embedded software development experience.
• Proficiency in C and C++.
• Experience with RTOS or embedded Linux.
• U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements; U.S. office roles are subject to ITAR eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Advanced degree.
• Experience with CAN/CAN-FD, UDP/TCP, and embedded systems.
• Experience developing software for autonomous vehicles operating in harsh environments, such as satellites.
