What you will do

  • Develop mechanisms and mechanical structures for uranium enrichment technology.
  • Own hardware through requirements definition, design, development, qualification, and production release.
  • Optimize designs for cost, performance, and manufacturability.
  • Functionally test hardware under thermal, vibration, shock, and durability conditions.
  • Analyze test failures, identify root causes, and develop hardware mitigations.
  • Collaborate with electrical, software, manufacturing, chemical, nuclear, materials, and physics specialists to integrate designs with system requirements.

Requirements

  • Exceptional ability demonstrated through projects, a portfolio, or completed products.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of mechanical engineering experience through projects, research, internships, or professional work.
  • Proficiency in a 3D CAD package such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or NX.
  • Ability to create manufacturing drawings using GD&T.
  • Proficiency in finite element analysis and ability to work extended hours or weekends when necessary.

Nice to have

  • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals.
  • Experience conducting trade studies and making recommendations from first principles with incomplete information.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, highly technical, or entrepreneurial engineering environment.
