Senior/Staff Vehicle Harness Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Onsite 5 days a week in Santa Clara, California, United States

Salary: $180,000–$250,000 per year

What you will do

• Own vehicle power and signal distribution from concept through production.
• Create harness requirements, specifications, schematics, CAD models, and drawings.
• Manage the Device Transmittal process and collaborate with suppliers on prototype and production vehicles.
• Provide technical expertise on GMSL, Automotive Ethernet, CAN, CAN-FD, low-voltage high-power applications, and grounding.
• Develop and refine harness tools and methods, troubleshoot issues, and support cross-functional system specification.
• Mentor junior engineers on power and signal distribution practices.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a similar engineering discipline; an MS is preferred.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with vehicle harnesses and experience delivering systems to production.
• Automotive, truck/transportation, or autonomous vehicle industry experience.
• Experience with Zuken E3 and advanced vehicle communication standards such as GMSL and Automotive Ethernet.
• Ability to select cables, connectors, and fuses and design supporting mechanical components such as brackets, housings, and pass-throughs.
• CAD or drawing software experience, strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
