Optical Manufacturing Automation Engineer (Silicon Photonics)

What you will do

• Develop and scale automation solutions for optical transceiver, silicon photonics, advanced packaging, and high-volume electronics manufacturing.
• Design and maintain software applications, automation frameworks, control systems, test stations, calibration systems, and process-monitoring tools.
• Integrate manufacturing equipment, optical test systems, robotics, motion-control platforms, and factory automation tools.
• Automate data collection, traceability, process control, production reporting, yield analysis, and statistical process control.
• Lead automation activities for new product introduction, manufacturing scale-up, production ramp, validation, calibration, and qualification.
• Support troubleshooting, root-cause investigations, continuous improvement, factory digitization, throughput optimization, yield improvement, and cost reduction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, software engineering, physics, manufacturing engineering, or a related technical field, with 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in manufacturing automation, test automation, or industrial software development within optical transceiver, silicon photonics, semiconductor, advanced packaging, or high-volume electronics environments.
• Strong software development skills in Python, C#, C++, LabVIEW, or similar languages, including equipment and automated-test-system integration.
• Knowledge of manufacturing automation architectures, industrial communication protocols, equipment integration, robotics, motion control, and production hardware.
• Experience with databases and manufacturing data systems using SQL, NoSQL, or equivalent technologies, including MES, ERP, traceability, SPC, yield analysis, and reporting.
• Understanding of version control, software validation, regression testing, release management, bug tracking, change control, QMS requirements, and manufacturing compliance standards.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of optical manufacturing, transceiver assembly, silicon photonics production, automated optical alignment, calibration systems, or high-speed optical testing.
• Experience supporting manufacturing scale-up, production ramp activities, and new product introduction.
