Database Reliability Engineer / DBRE (AWS/Terraform)

What you will do

• Lead large-scale database migrations related to acquisitions, client onboarding, and platform growth, including rollback planning, minimal downtime, and zero data loss.
• Design deployment strategies for blue/green rollouts, archiving, and partitioning across relational, key-value, and document databases.
• Build AI-assisted automation, Terraform modules, runbooks, diagnostics, and operational tooling for database reliability, security, scalability, and capacity planning.
• Partner with Data Insights on lakehouse enablement using Databricks, Apache Iceberg, and Unity Catalog.
• Guide engineers in selecting and operating fit-for-purpose MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Redis, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch solutions.
• Participate in incident response and on-call rotations while maintaining technical documentation and reusable engineering patterns.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience operating MySQL and/or PostgreSQL in large-scale production environments, including deep knowledge of database internals.
• 2+ years of experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Redis, or Elasticsearch.
• 2+ years of experience with AWS cloud services.
• Strong Infrastructure as Code expertise, primarily with Terraform.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development workflows and tools such as Cursor and Claude.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and distributed-team collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Exposure to lakehouse and analytics infrastructure, including Databricks, Apache Iceberg, and Unity Catalog.
