What you will do

• Troubleshoot and service automated microscope systems, including hardware, software, optics, fluidics, environmental controls, and peripheral equipment.
• Respond to system issues, document troubleshooting and repairs, and manage service tickets through resolution.
• Communicate system status, downtime, next steps, and risks to supported scientific and production teams.
• Maintain inventories of tools, spare parts, consumables, and replacement equipment.
• Track recurring failures, investigate trends, and assist with preventive maintenance, calibration, and readiness checks.
• Partner with scientific and production teams to implement laboratory automation platforms, develop microscope-based processes, and design custom systems.

Requirements

• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining automation equipment in a production- or operations-focused environment.
• Experience with fluorescence microscopy, especially Zeiss systems.
• Experience with Micro-Manager microscope control software, ImageJ, and Beanshell scripting.
• Experience with ASI microscope stages and controllers.
• Proficiency with design software such as SolidWorks and fabrication tools including 3D printing, CNC, or laser cutting.
• Ability to work under pressure, respond quickly, and solve complex technical problems with careful documentation.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Python, Java, C#, or .NET.
